Due to the recent rash of authors sending me books on my no-go list, Romance and More will be on hiatus. I love reading. I love reviewing books. However, some folks have claimed to have read my review policy, tell me their book is free of the topics on my no-go list, and send me the title for review only to find the book was filled with disturbing material. One was so graphic and violent in a sexual manner by the third chapter, I was physically ill for days afterward and couldn't finish it. I hope this time off will help me regroup and rethink Romance and More. I apologize for the inconvenience. FYI, this applies to promos as well.

Kathy is a Michigan native where she lives with her husband Tony. They have two son's Aaron and Shane.
Filthy Marcellos: La Cosa Nostra is not just a choice of regime and routine, itâs a culture. Born as mafia royalty, the Marcello brothers were raised ingrained with the beliefs and rules of what it meant to be a Mafioso prince. It is for life. Their status is considered a given right. They will always be these people. They will always be Marcellos.
BOOK ONE - FILTHY MARCELLOS: Lucian
Lucian Marcello is aware of the expectations following him as the oldest son of one of North Americaâs most infamous Cosa Nostra Dons. Family in his world is more than blood and sharing a last name. Itâs the honor, respect, business, and the life. Being a Capo is just a stepping stone until itâs time for him to take on the role of underboss but a chance meeting with her could be the one thing heâd risk it all for.
She is exactly what he didnât know he was looking for.
Jordyn Reese spends her time trying to stay under the radar of a man who wouldnât think twice about killing her. Unwillingly affiliated with a dangerous MC gang, her life is dominated by the men surrounding her and her future rests solely in how useful she can be for them. The last thing she needs is some Mafioso gaining her more unwanted attention from the club.
He is everything she should stay away from but canât.
Notoriously violent when it comes to getting what he wants, Lucian will stop at nothing to make the target on Jordynâs back disappear. But sometimes the worst threats are the ones you canât see until itâs too late. The truth behind Lucianâs history is about to take center stage in more ways than one, and itâll either save him ⦠or kill him.
This world leaves everyone a little filthy.
REVIEWS FOR LUCIAN
"One-click must. I was drawn in immediately to Lucian and his Italian family. But low and behold he finds his lasting passion and desire in the last place on earth he ever thought possible, the confessional!" 5 out of 5 stars - KB, Amazon Reviewer
"I loved this book, absolutely LOVED this book. Again, being of Italian descent, this book reminded me of my childhood with the big Sunday meals and the tons of extended family, the closeness of us all." 5 out of 5 stars - Donna, Words Turn Me On
"The author did an amazing job of balancing the dark of the gritty worlds in which the story is set, and the love between all the characters - romantic interest, maternal/paternal, and siblings." 5 out of 5 stars - Amazon Reviewer
BOOK TWO - FILTHY MARCELLOS: Giovanni
Giovanni Marcello lives life by his own terms and has no intention of changing. As a Capo and the son of a mob boss, he knows what is and is not acceptable conduct. That doesnât stop him from doing whatever he wants, whenever he wants to do it. The one thing he would never do is disobey the principles of La Cosa Nostra. That is, until he spends a night with a beautiful stranger.
Heâll break every rule for her.
Kim Abella has made some mistakesâno doubt about it. Sheâs paying for them by a forced marriage she doesnât want to a man who suffocates her with his demands and abuse. After everything, she knew better than to get mixed up with another family, especially their youngest son. Then again, when sheâs with him, he reminds her of who she is beneath the control thatâs slowly killing her.
She just canât leave him alone.
Being spoken for by a made man means Kim is off-limits, but Giovanni doesnât play nice when it comes to taking what should be his. The only thing that might save them both from a bullet and a makeshift grave for what theyâve done are the very same rules they already broke.
Sometimes, love has to start out a little filthy.
REVIEWS FOR GIOVANNI
"Oh man what do I say?! Young love. Flawed. This couple is far from perfect, they made some serious mistakes, but their love was enough to pull them through." 5 out of 5 stars - Christine, The Dark Romance Junkie *Principessa*
"Once again, Bethany-Kris does an amazing job creating beautifully flawed characters that command all your attention. The plot line was well-paced, creative, sexy and suspenseful." 5 out of 5 stars - Danielle Ward, author of Midnight Sun
"Here comes another book hangover! Bethany writes beautifully that 5 stars are always not enough." 5 out of 5 stars - Goodreads Reviewer, aeyc
BOOK THREE - Filthy Marcellos: Dante
Dante Marcelloâs life has been a carefully planned event as an heir to a Cosa Nostra throne. For as long as he can remember, heâs had one goal in mind, and thatâs becoming the Don. With his father ready to step down, itâs Danteâs turn to step up. But without a wife at his side, his seat as the boss is on shaky ground. Until she shows up with an offer he wants to refuse, but canât.
With her, heâs got everything to gain.
Catrina Danzi is known for her angel face and a predatorâs grace. For over a decade, sheâs worked as a successful Queen Pin dealing with a repertoire of clientele who canât afford a scandal. Thatâs why they ask for her and why they call her Queen. Marrying Dante Marcello means giving up the business and status she loves in order to gain protection she canât provide on her own, but she no longer has a choice.
Without him, sheâs got everything to lose.
The rules for their arrangement are simple: no intimacy, no emotions. Dante isnât looking for love and Catrina doesnât need attachments. In the end, life has a way of breaking down walls when you least expect it to, and once love gets in, thereâs no bleeding it out. Together, they make a formidable team the Commission wonât be able to ignore. Catrinaâs secret of what sheâs kept safe will put the entire Marcello family in danger when it finally catches up with her. The Marcellos have yet to be beaten, and theyâre not about to start bowing down now.
Even the most beautiful things are a little filthy.
REVIEWS FOR DANTE

PREQUEL - FILTHY MARCELLOS: Antony
Antony Marcello didnât break the rules. Not the ones that mattered, anyway. In the world of La Cosa Nostra, justice was served with a single word and a bullet, not a courthouse and a judge. When he was told to jump, there was only one appropriate response: How high, Boss?
Some rules are worth bending.
La famiglia has been Antonyâs goal for longer than he cares to remember. Getting his button is everything alongside family, honor, God, and loyalty. Meeting Cecelia Catrolli puts what he thought he knew upside down as the mafia, friendship, secrets and love carry him through life. Nothing is ever easy.
Some rules are worth the killing.
When Cosa Nostra, the one thing he has always known and trusted, takes away his best friend, leaving Antony to pick up the pieces, heâll have to decide if the rules are finally worth breaking. He didnât start out as the boss, he began as just Antony.
Sometimes, you have to learn how to be filthy.
A Filthy Marcellos Prequel
Excerpt from Filthy Marcellos: Antony
âWhat did they do, forget the âHâ when they spelled your name on the birth certificate?â Cecelia asked, a teasing smile lighting up her pretty features.
Antony chuckled, holding out his fork full off cheesecake for her to take. He waited while she drew the sweet bite from the utensil, her lips wrapping around the fork in a way that had his darker urges rising. He quickly reminded himself of the enforcer two booths away, readjusted his position in the seat, and cleared his throat. Yeah, he needed to get as far away from those fucking thoughts as he possibly could.
Cecelia was innocent. Antony needed to keep that forefront and center. He sure as hell wasnât, but she was. Why she wanted anything to do with him, he wasnât sure.
âNo, they didnât forget to add it in,â Antony finally replied.
Cecelia used the tip of her thumb to wipe away a bit of cream at the corner of her mouth. Antonyâs gaze instantly zoned in on that innocent gesture and she didnât miss it. Ceceliaâs smile turned into a knowing grin.
Something inside of him said she wasnât totally innocent.
âLike Cleopatra,â Antony explained.
âCleopatra and Antony. My mother was a romantic. I was lucky I didnât end up with Romeo for a name. She had a thing for couples who gave everything up for love.â
âIncluding their lives,â Cecelia mused.
âExactly. Whatâs love without a little tragedy, as the saying goes. My brother got the namesake and I ended up with Antony.â
Cecelia chewed on her inner cheek, smiling in that sensual way of hers all over again. âI think I like Antony more, anyway.â
Her hand found his thigh again. âTake me dancing this weekend, hmm? Somewhere fun. I never get to do fun things, anymore.â
âI can do that, Tesoro.â
Whatever she wanted, heâd give.
âAnd maybe â¦â Cecelia trailed off with a sly hum.
âMaybe what, Cecelia?â
She leaned up and kissed him before heâd blinked. Soft, warm lips pressed to his and that was it for him. Antony was gone. She tasted like sugar and innocence. Pureness right down to her blood and bones. His cock jerked to life under his slacks the higher her hand rose on his thigh and the harder she kissed him. Quickly, her lips parted and he took the chance to deepen the kiss for the brief moment he could.
She didnât pull away.
He was going to dirty this girl up so bad.
Antony bet sheâd like it.

Add Crossing the Line to your TBR list on Goodreads!Note from the author Thank you so much for checking out my book, Crossing the Line! This is book 2 in the Without a Trace series, and tells the tale of Ella and Ian—it is a prequel to Inside the Lines. If you read and Lux and Fin's story, you'll recall these characters—you know the ending...but can you guess their beginning? Keep an eye out as books 3 & 4 in the Without a Series will be out this year!
Special sneak peek:Ch. 2: Ella is co-owner of Elementary, a mystery dinner theater company in Brooklyn, NY, and Ian Crane is their first high-profile client—and considered to be the one of the city's most eligible bachelors—and Ella's meeting with him to discuss his upcoming party...right, the party... After the brutal cold of the night, his apartment feels welcoming and cozy. He takes my coat, his fingers brushing mine. The unexpected touch sends delicious shivers down my back. I don't know what I'm doing here—he's a client, and an important one. We've been trying hard to get into neighborhoods like his. Plus, he's friendly and seems sincere—I don't want to ruin anything for Elementary. But there's something about him—and I don't mean the fact that he's stunning to look at—that makes me want to spend more time in his space. He's different. Most of the guys I've met here have been professionals, driven and goal-oriented. And they seemed to treat their romantic lives the same way. Ian feels more…relaxed. Maybe a bit impetuous? I don't know. But there's something here I haven't felt in a long time, and I've missed it. We make small talk about his firm while the coffee brews. He's hoping to be made a partner in the next few years, and he mentions a case he just finished. He's loosened his tie, shed his suit coat, and when we relax onto his leather couch with our respective mugs, the conversation slows as we enjoy the aroma and flavor of the drink. "My God, you weren't kidding." I sigh after I take another sip. "This is incredible." "I'm not sure if it's the machine or the beans she sent, but I haven't been able to stay away from the damn thing since it arrived." "I can see why." I imbibe a bit more before setting my mug next to his on the coffee table. There are several feet between us on the couch, and even though we were probably seated closer together at the Japanese restaurant, this feels very intimate. "You said earlier that you never gave much thought to going to law school. Where did you think you'd end up?" The gas fireplace crackles, punctuating my sentence, or perhaps mocking me as I'm trying to ignore what's going on and why I'm still in this man's apartment. "I never gave it much thought. Honestly, I was a stupid kid." His grin is a bit embarrassed as he stretches back against the couch cushions. "Between undergrad and law school, my father forced me to take a year off. When he retired, he'd decided to travel, but not in conventional ways. He visited friends working in third world countries and helped them treat those who couldn't afford medical care. So he dragged me along with him, as a payback for him paying for law school. It forced me to grow up…in a lot of ways." "Wow. Your dad was hardcore." "He was." He nods, his smile shrinking a bit. "But he taught me a lot. I grew up privileged. I had everything. And even though my parents tried to make sure I was brought up right and understood the world, you don't really get it until you see it. You know what I mean?" I nod. "I do. We were the opposite. My parents…they did okay for themselves, and they were smart. They got life insurance, so when Noah and I turned eighteen, we had college money and a little bit of a cushion to survive on. But our grandparents were poor. So we grew up knowing the price difference between frozen and canned peas and watching the coupon pages in the newspaper. But we knew we had more than others." "Exactly. We get comfortable in our lives here—and we should. That's part of living in this country. But it's dangerous when we assume everyone has that opportunity." The intensity of the conversation turns the silence afterwards reflective. We sit quietly for a few minutes, each lost in thought. "More coffee?" Ian nods to my cup. "Sure." I follow him into the kitchen, noting how well his suit pants fit his ass and the way his shirt clings to his muscled shoulders. Yummy, indeed. He's doing something with the coffee machine, and I lean back against the counter, trying not to stare at him. When he turns, he's just a bit too close, and then his mouth is on mine, soft yet demanding, and his hands slide up to my shoulders. It's a quick kiss, almost chaste, but the heat sears my lips. "I really hope you wanted me to do that." He drops his hands to his sides, his tone pensive. I bite my lip, still feeling his mouth. "I didn't stop you." My insides are turning to jelly, but all I want is to feel him against me again. So I do something I never do. I make the next move. He's taller than me by several inches, so I draw his face down to mine, lips teasing over his as I ease us into the next kiss. His mouth is hungry, but his touch soft as his hands slide over my back, pulling me against him. I lean in, enjoying the sculpted length of him against my body and the light scent of his aftershave. When my tongue teases the edge of his mouth, he answers in kind, deepening the kiss, his arms tightening around me. "Wow," I say when we come up for air. "That was…" "Unexpected?" His eyes crinkle at the corners, his expression hopeful. "Lovely, actually." We forget about the coffee, getting lost in the excitement of skin and heat. When his hand slides beneath my sweater, moisture pools between my legs. I haven't felt this turned on in a long time, and for once, my usual caution seems to have evaporated. He lifts me, setting me on his counter as he continues his exploration of my skin. I wrap my legs around his waist, enjoying the feel of his hardness against me. His fingers release my bra, and when his palm skims my breast, I suck in a breath, letting his mouth drop to my neck as I revel in the sensation. "I want to undress you," he whispers in my ear, sending a delicious chill down to my core. "It would be a lot easier in my bedroom." Want more Ella and Ian? Get your copy of Crossing the Line here! In the end, is true love worth a Second Chance, even if it means a tragic end? The answer is an emphatic YES!

At first I couldn't stop yelling at the pigheaded young man in my head. However, by the end, I couldn't stop crying. I'm getting to choked up just thinking about the tragic loss of blissful years. This is one of the most beautiful eulogies I've ever read. I don't think I can type anymore through the watery eyes. 4 stars.
I spent twenty-five years in the wonderful world of road construction. Back surgery in 2010 put the skids on that career. My body couldn’t handle the rigors of twelve to sixteen hour days, six to seven days a week. As I convalesced, licking my wounds, I wondered what to do next. Not being out in the sun getting baked, or dodging traffic, was going to be a hard act to follow. Seriously, what else did I know? An article in the Dallas Morning News caught my eye. It was about being a professional speaker. Hmm. That sounds interesting. Becoming mobile again, I took a seat in front of the blank monitor, pondering what to write. Let’s start with something we know—my life.
The first work was titled “God’s Plan: A Glimpse Into One’s Life.” I re-titled it six months later to “Why Did Everything Happen?” I looked back at the last twenty-five years and how the death of my partner, father and true love affected my life. I was amazed at the revelations. Since then, I’ve moved on to write in several different genres. Some say I should change my name when diverting from the path. Well, right or wrong, I’m sticking with my name. The current works range from the memoir of my one true love: Debbie Beck—RIP 7-20-2009—Love’s True Second Chance, an alternative historical perspective of Vampires and WWII—Occupation, a newly released Sci-Fi time travel adventure,—Gateway: Pioche. If that isn’t enough, how about two Baseball Coaching Manuals?
I currently live in the DFW area, spending time with my daughter, her girls and my oldest son. When I was in construction, I never had, or took the time to enjoy what surrounded me: love, family and friends. My true love, Debbie and her girls reminded me what was important in life; “we work to live, not live to work.”
With the big news about Sarah Hudek, the first female to play baseball at the collegiate level (and the daughter of MLB All-Star John Hudek), it's time to share the news about Michael Cruit's new novel, Fastball Fari.
Fari Madrigal throws 95, has an off-the-table curve, and pinpoint control. And by the way, she is a woman, a mystical 22-year-old from the Dominican Republic. Fari signs with the Twins right before opening day and becomes a sensation before throwing her first pitch. But Fari is painfully shy, and the media crush and a crazed public force her into hiding and longing for home.
Opening Day comes, and the world waits for Fastball Fari to take the mound. Will her magical baseball powers elevate her to immortality, or will her inner demons and the relentless onslaught of the material world swallow her up before her dream is realized?
Fastball Fari is a triple-crown winner: It is a thought-provoking and charming blend of baseball and romance, with a large dose of social commentary mixed in.
Fastball Fari will be released in trade paperback in May 2015 and we are currently reaching out to book reviewers and book bloggers. Digital review copies in .mobi, ePub, and PDF are available immediately for your consideration, and Michael and Summer Game Books welcomes opportunities for guest spots and giveaways for your readers.
We appreciate how much support is provided by the online book lovers' community, and thank you for your efforts. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or requests.

How can ten-year-old Charlotte ever envisage that magic really exists? The place for other realms belongs in a child's fairy tale. Or so she thinks, until she discovers the strange shopkeeper and begins an adventure that changes her life forever.
Discovered alone in a far away forest, Charlotte embarks on a journey encountering heart-stopping dangers and real life monsters, but a far greater threat shadows her every move. Even the strength and skill of her new companions cannot protect her against a ruthless druid assassin.
But in this realm, Charlotte is not the vulnerable little girl she thought she was.
I think Truth Teller is a great YA read. This fantasy adventure has a lot going for it. You have the daydreaming, 10 year-old heroine, an otherworldly realm with a serious villain problem, magic, and elves. What more could a kid want in a book?
The set up for the second book in the series was also really good, without leaving a gut wrenching cliffhanger at the end of book one. It is entirely possible to finish this story and get a well-rounded, satisfying ending. While there is a set-up for the second book, the reader isn't left with a sense of loose ends.
The adventure has action and suspense without the graphic descriptions. There is brother/sister tension between our heroine and hero to give some additional external conflict. Our heroine has a great deal of internal conflict about being transported to another realm and the trouble she potentially faces at home. Throw in a Druid assassin and you have a story most kids will love.
I give Truth Teller 4 stars!

Brief bio from Kurt.
I am a husband, father of three and grandfather of another three so far. I live in England, not too far from London, in the county of Hertfordshire. I lead a double life. During the day I work as a carpenter, but in the evening I transform into an author and all it entails. I write middle grade fantasy novels that I like to think can be enjoyed by anyone aged eight to eighty. I was never a confident reader when I was a youngster. I struggled with some of the classic fantasy stories and wondered why authors couldn't write similar stories that were easier to read, for people like me. When I grew up, I decided I should write one myself. That is how my Truth Teller fantasy series started out all those years ago when I was a child.

A career nurse/midwife, who has celebrated life and birthing all of her adult life. Study and research have always been her playground. After being awarded a PhD, she has turned her attentions to her other love—writing. A love of the Scots and their history is a common thread in her works of fantasy.
I smell rain before clouds gather across the sky. I feel the dawn before the sun paints my world the colours of the earth. It is the flit of gossamer wings above my head as I walk through the garden that warms my soul and makes me glad that faeries exist. The universe is my mistress and my strength. Things that growl in the shadows or snap at my ankles in the night are my dark friends—the source of my creativity.
Returning to reality isn’t everything Iliana Rory hoped…
As she resumes her A-list actress life, Iliana tells herself she’s home, but the adventure she experienced beyond a dimensional rift comes back to her in daily reminders. A nasty arm wound is bad enough. A sexy costar who happens to be a dead ringer for the man who stole a desert treasure and a piece of her heart is more than any woman deserves to suffer.
Any thoughts that her memories might be the result of fever dreams vanish when her wound reopens while filming a rescue scene. Once her horse starts talking to her, Iliana can’t deny the adventure—and Brandon Crowe—were real. Which means just maybe the newfound love in her heart is real, too. But has Brandon given up on her?
To get back to Brandon, all she has to do is finish filming, evade the paparazzi, survive the social media headlines, and stave off the amorous advances of her cocky costar. After surviving the Knalish army, handling Hollywood is a walk in the outback. Outback Dreams is the second story in the four part serial recounting Iliana’s journey along the Ivory Road.
